Why on earth move to Somerset?

Before moving my knowledge of Somerset had been gathered from roadsigns on the A303 while travelling to visit family and friends in Devon and Cornwall. The exception to this was Exmoor.

I fell in love with Exmoor after Andrew introduced it to me on my first trip down over 20 years ago. Such romantic wildernesses have always tugged at my heartstrings since seeing an old black and white film of Wuthering Heights as a child (sorry, I can't claim to have been so inspired by reading the novel!). What makes Exmoor stand out from other moors in the west is that it has a coast line. Where the moors meet the sea it is just breathtaking, and quite unique. Exmoor boasts the highest cliffs in England, and from these cliffs I can see Wales, another place that is dear to my heart. What's not to love?

So not only do we have Exmoor on our doorstep, but also we're discovering the stunning Quantock Hills. I have to share a few pictures which I think explain 'Why Somerset'.
