Stay with us in The Milking Parlour
We are now up and running and ready to accept guests into our self contained one bedroom barn conversion
The Milking Parlour at Old Dairy Barns, Over Stowey, Somerset.

Visit us in the beautiful Quantock Hills
Originally the Milking Parlour was where the milking machines were. We have converted this into a characterful and comfortable space that you can be totally relaxed and away from it all.
With beautiful views all round there is a sunny SW facing terrace where you can enjoy the evening watching the sun go down.

We provide a welcome basket with some local goodies on your arrival. Nearby Nether Stowey offers a local village shop which is well stocked, a post office and a very popular butcher that also caters for vegetarians. Being pretty rural, large supermarkets are about 20 minutes away, so you might want to shop on your way here.

Below is more details of what we offer, prices and information about booking.

We are passionate about this area and all it has to offer. Whether you want to come and just gently take in the scenery or get active, there is so much on offer we can't tell you everything!

Just 10-15 minutes away are the nearest jurassic beaches where you can find fossils, walk the coastal path or shrimp in the rock pools. You might want to visit the WWT reserves at Steart Marshes, a protected saltmarsh providing a valuable habitat for many seabirds.
A little further is the long sandy Berrow Beach or head west on the Steam Train towards Dunster Beach and Minehead. The medieval village of Dunster is well worth a visit, along with the imposing Dunster Castle with it's beautiful gardens and views over the Bristol Channel to Wales.

We have much to offer in and around Over Stowey too, with the Coleridge Way passing nearby, where the natural beauty has inspired many poets including Coleridge. The National Trust property, Coleridge Cottage, is in the village of Nether Stowey and worth visiting to step back in time. Nether Stowey also boasts it's own 12th Century Castle and hosts a number of art and craft activities and courses.

Somerset offers plenty of other activities including the upcoming Christmas Markets of Wells and Bath, plus many other places to visit and enjoy. We are always happy to make suggestions and help you make the most of your visit.

Facilities at The Milking Parlour
The Milking Parlour is a beautifully spacious self contained barn conversion with it's own entrance that opens into a generous hallway leading to the bedroom, bathroom and a living/kitchen/dining room. The living room contains a comfortable sitting area with smart-TV, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. There are French doors opening onto a South West facing terrace with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. The bedroom is made up with a comfortable super-king size bed or two full size single beds if preferred. The bathroom has a roll top bath with drench shower over. There is free satellite superfast WiFi on it's own guest login. One well behaved dog is welcome, but must be kept under control as we have sheep and ponies in the fields.
